Characteristics of the right vehicle (From "Don't Get Trampled by the Moose!")

Recognizing network marketing as the industry to give you financial freedom is one thing, recognizing the right company within the industry is a whole different matter altogether. It is not a simple matter to locate a company that has all the benefits you desire.

It takes time to understand all the intricacies of a network marketing company’s business model, promotion level requirements, compensation plan, financial strengths and weaknesses, initial investment required, product line, and future stability, and marketing techniques that foster success, unless you have someone who can tell you what to look for in a good company.

Well, this segment is about just that, “what to look for.”

Many people do not know how to find the network marketing company that is right for them. If you are going to join yourself to a company it would be wise to learn as much about the company as you can. Your research should include certain aspects of the company such as their stability and longevity. A stable company is a financially solid, debt free organization.

You should look for a business that has been around for several years. This does not mean new companies cannot be stable and solid. Every company must have a beginning. However, the average lifespan of a new network marketing company is just over seven months.

Less than five percent of new network marketing companies last longer than twenty four months. It is very important to look at the longevity of a company because no one wants to spend a year of their life building a business just to find out that the company is closing its doors due to instability or poor management.

A good way to judge the stability of the company is to look at its ownership, management team, and financial standing.

There are two schools of thought when it comes to ownership of a company. A privately held business with no shareholders allows the management of the company to share more of the profits with its distributors, (those who are actually doing the work) but it has less scrutiny.

A publicly owned company must be very transparent in its business practices. This makes it easier to find information about the company’s ownership and financial status than a privately owned business. Unfortunately, they often focus most of their attention on the shareholders rather than the representatives.

You should also look for a company that has a good training program. If you are going to work with a company, there should at least be training material available for you to learn about your company, its products and/ or services, and business tools or helps.

You do not want to be involved in a company that pushes its distributors with hype and empty promises. Look for a company that markets a product or service that you can personally believe in. If you do not believe in what you are doing it is harder to succeed because it is obvious to prospective customers that you are putting on a show.

Many good network marketing companies offer products or services that are part of a very large and growing market. This plays a large role in the longevity of the company.

For example, if you are a distributor for a company that sells and services Conestoga wagon wheels, at one point in history this would have been a large and rapidly growing market. But, we live in the twenty first century.

The wheel still exists but the wagon wheel is an antiquity and novelty. This is not the market you want to be in to make a lot of money.

In order for a network marketing company to survive, it must offer a product that is consumable. If a product or service being offered is not consumable, there cannot be a recurring monthly income to the company by which to pay its representatives.

The company would eventually fold because the payouts would overwork the income generated, regardless of the amount of the product or service. Many companies have offered good products, but these products were not consumable in nature.

Therefore, most of these companies either failed or had to restructure their product line offering. Another thing to look for in a network marketing company is timing. By timing I mean, the timing of the product on the market.

If your company markets a very unique brass door knob when the current styles of the day are bronze, your product is nearly useless. The company should always be researching, developing, and associating itself with products and services that reflect the trends of the times.

Another aspect of timing is when to join a company. Many people believe they have to get into a network marketing company on what they call the “ground floor” in order to be successful.

For some companies this may be true; with the better network marketing companies, however, the time of entry into the company should not affect your level of success.

The management team should have integrity and should truly care about the success of the distributors and representatives that belong to the organization. Read the company’s mission statement. This should be very clear about the intentions of the company and its leaders.

Also, if it is available, find out what percentage of the revenues are paid out to the representatives. Another way to find out about the management of any company is to speak with the management team itself. Sound business practices and integrity are vital to the foundation of any business.

When companies close their doors due to a flaw in their business practices, it is devastating to the representatives. They worked hard to build their organizations and ultimately lose everything they worked for because of faulty practices.

When looking for the network marketing company that is right for you, you should look for the following characteristics:

1. Proven to stand the test of time.

2. Financially solid. No/low debt service.

3. Strong corporate support structure.

4. Leadership with integrity and experience.

5. Good ratings from independent (watch-dog) organizations such as Better Business  Bureau, Dunn & Bradstreet, etc.

6. Transparency about mission and vision.

7. Strong compensation plan that includes both a residual and bonus structure which puts representatives first.(This encourages the representatives to work hard because they can know what to expect for their achievements.)

8. Multi-product diversity. (A variety of products and/or services that a great majority of the population is already using.)

9. Provides products and services that lend themselves to a recurring nature. (Because people are conditioned to unconsciously pay their monthly bills, it is more appealing when they do not have to think about repurchasing or replenishing their supply or services. They are marketed one time and the sale occurs month after month. This leads to a true residual income.)

10. Simplified responsibilities of the representatives. (The representatives are not required to produce, inventory, deliver, or collect for the products and services they market. The task of the representatives should be purely marketing, not manufacturing, warehousing, financing, delivering or collections.)

There are several companies that pass this close scrutiny with flying colors. While some companies are better than others, it is not the purpose of this writing to compare the opportunities that exist in the network marketing industry.

Instead, this work is designed to give relevant and pertinent information to those individuals who are interested in gaining knowledge about this industry or perhaps have been struggling with getting a business off the ground. This information is written to give the person who desires to start their own network marketing business an educated edge toward success.

Compensation Plan
Any great network marketing company is set apart by a compensation plan that includes not only a long-term residual income, but also an up-front bonus system that allows its representatives to enjoy fruits of their labors as quickly as possible. Most compensation plans pay to at least four levels deep.

The better the compensation plan, the more levels on which the company will pay. There are some companies that actually pay to unlimited levels and still have the up-front bonus system in place.

If you are already a representative in network marketing, look at the pay structure available to you and ask if the pay plan has expanded over time, and if it will continue to expand into the future. If it is truly expanding, the payouts to the representatives will continue to get better.

If the company is cutting back on its pay plan, beware. When a company is struggling financially, representative compensation is one of the first things to go.

Products and Services
The products and services of great network marketing companies have a few qualities in common. First, they carry products that are used on a weekly, if not daily basis. They are products and services used on a very large scale.

At a minimum the products or services should be available regionally, the best case being nation wide or even internationally. This creates the largest possible pool of prospective clients and potential new distributors.

Whatever the product or service, it does not have to be manufactured, produced or provided by the network marketing company itself. There are many great name brand products that are marketed by network marketing businesses that have no production ties to one another.

Some companies carry a “buffet” of sorts in their product and service line. This makes them great because, inevitably, trends will dictate change. When a company is not tied to one specific product, and it loses one for any reason, it can simply pick up a new product that is “hot” on the market and continue to thrive.

What to Avoid
When searching for the best network marketing opportunity, you will want to avoid several things. Stay away from a company that does not have a viable product or service. These businesses are often schemes, which are illegal.

A network marketing company that partners with major corporations has already been investigated by these corporation’s highly paid attorneys. There is little chance these corporations are going to be connected in any way to some “flyby-night” operation that is here today and gone tomorrow.

Once you have joined the company of your choice, move forward in every avenue possible. Any distributor should adhere closely to the policies set forth by their company. These policies are established to protect and to serve not only the company but also the representatives.

A multitude of legal issues can be avoided if the distributors will simply stay within the bounds set forth by their company. One of the more problematic issues to avoid is “projecting” incomes. Projecting an income is when a representative reveals or displays his income to a potential representative to “show him” what he could be making some day.

Though it is possible for the new representative to make the same amount or more, the law prohibits leading him to sign up under this pretense. The new representative may never achieve the same pay level and may therefore, feel he was tricked into the business.

Some people have made false claims about their company’s products. This often happens when a company’s product line is built around the nutrition industry. For example, an uneducated representative claims that his product will cure cancer or heal the body of a certain disease.

The Food and Drug Administration enforces laws which forbid any food or drink to claim healing properties for a disease or to cure an ailment, unless it is classified as a pharmaceutical drug. Since legal drugs can only be purchased over the counter, network marketing companies are not allowed to sell or distribute them. Thus, any nutritional products sold and distributed must not be represented as a cure or healing agent.

While there are various pitfalls to avoid in network marketing, there is one problem area that affects people the most. This pitfall is when people join the first direct sales business that is presented to them. For one reason or another, they do not realize there are other possibilities available and that if they simply checked them out they would find the one that is the most comfortable fit for them.

This is not to say that the first business opportunity is not the best. You should simply do your homework and prevent yourself from being one of those who fail or quit because it “just didn’t work out.”

There are many characteristics that make up a strong network marketing company. Only a few of them have been listed in this chapter. One of the most important aspects of any network marketing company is the representatives.

People follow other people, and the real strength of any company lies in the character and integrity of the people who are associated with it. If the company business model, pay structure, integrity, or any other major characteristic is flawed, it will not be long before you begin to see people “jumping ship.”

WASHINGTON – Unemployment rose in 30 states in January, the Labor Department said Wednesday, evidence that jobs remain scarce in most regions of the country.

The data is somewhat better than December, when 43 states reported higher unemployment rates, but worse than November, when rates fell in most states.

Still, five states reported record-high joblessness in January: California, at 12.5 percent; South Carolina, 12.6 percent; Florida, 11.9 percent; North Carolina, 11.1 percent; and Georgia, 10.4 percent.

Michigan's unemployment rate is still the nation's highest, at 14.3 percent, followed by Nevada, with 13 percent and Rhode Island at 12.7 percent. South Carolina and California round out the top five.

There were some signs of job creation. Thirty-one states added jobs in January, up from only 11 in the previous month. But the job gains weren't enough, in many cases, to lower the unemployment rate.

For example, California reported the largest job gains, of 32,500, though its unemployment rate also rose. Illinois, New York, Washington state and Minnesota reported the next highest totals of new jobs.

The lowest unemployment rates are still found in upper Plains states, with North Dakota's jobless rate of 4.2 percent the lowest in the nation. Nebraska and South Dakota had the next lowest rates, at 4.6 percent and 4.8 percent, respectively.

2 Choices in Life ~

This is a TRUE STORY!

Jerry was the kind of guy you love to hate. He was always in a good mood and always had something positive to say.

When someone would ask him how he was doing, he would reply, "If I were any better, I would be twins!"

He was a unique manager because he had several waiters who had followed him around from restaurant to restaurant. The reason the waiters followed Jerry was because of his attitude.

He was a natural motivator. If an employee was having a bad day, Jerry was there telling the employee how to look on the positive side of the situation.

Seeing this style really made me curious, so one day I went up to Jerry and asked him, "I don't get it!

You can't be a positive person all of the time. How do you do it?"

Jerry replied, "Each morning I wake up and say to myself, Jerry, you have two choices today. You can choose to be in a good mood or you can choose to be in a bad mood.' I choose to be in a good mood. Each time something bad happens, I can choose to be a victim or I can choose to learn from it. I choose to learn from it. Every time someone comes tome complaining, I can choose to accept their complaining or I can point out the positive side of life. I choose the positive side of life."

"Yeah, right, it's not that easy," I protested.

"Yes it is," Jerry said. "Life is all about choices. When you cut away all the junk, every situation is a choice. You choose how you react to situations. You choose how people will affect your mood. You choose to be in a good mood or bad mood. The bottom line: It's your choice how you live life."

I reflected on what Jerry said. Soon thereafter, I left the restaurant industry to start my own business.

We lost touch, but often thought about him when I made a choice about life instead of  reacting to it.

Several years later, I heard that Jerry did something you are never  supposed to do in a restaurant business: he left the back door open one morning and was held up at gunpoint by three armed robbers. While trying to open the safe, his hand, shaking from nervousness, slipped off the combination. The robbers panicked and shot him. Luckily, Jerry was found relatively quickly and rushed to the local trauma center. After 18 hours of surgery and weeks of intensive care, Jerry was released from the hospital with fragments of the bullets still in his body.

I saw Jerry about six months after the accident. When I asked him how he was, he replied, "If I were any better, I'd be twins. Wanna see my scars?" I declined to see his wounds, but did ask him what had gone through his mind as the robbery took place. "The first thing that went through my mind was that I should have locked the back door," Jerry replied.

"Then, as I lay on the floor, I remembered that I had two choices: I could choose to live, or I could choose to die. I chose to live.

"Weren't you scared? Did you lose consciousness?" I asked.

Jerry continued, "The paramedics were great. They kept telling me I was going to be fine. But when they wheeled me into the emergency room and I saw the expressions on the faces of the doctors and nurses, I got really scared. In their eyes, I read, 'He's a dead man. " I knew I needed to take action."

"What did you do?" I asked.

"Well, there was a big, burly nurse shouting questions at me," said Jerry.

"She asked if I was allergic to anything. 'Yes,' I replied.

The doctors and nurses stopped working as they waited for my reply. I took a deep breath and yelled, 'Bullets!'

Over their laughter, I told them, 'I am choosing to live. Operate on me as if I am alive, not dead."

Jerry lived thanks to the skill of his doctors, but also because of his amazing attitude. I learned from him that every day we have the choice to live fully. Attitude, after all, is everything.

Well the last week has been hell! Our son was put back in hospital on Friday with a clot 1 1/2 feet long in his arm! Some of the clot broke off and he now has clots in each lung.  He is so sick! We pray that he will be healed soon. He is down to 95 lbs
We have been doing our best to keep things as normal as possible for our other 8 kids, and do Fortune but I'm not gonna lie....this SUCKS!
We still managed to show the business 5 times this week, not great, but all thing considered.... Our downline has all but quit on us, even though we have made ourselves available to show the plan all the time. We have done one on one trainings, calls, etc. Between myself and my husband we have been to 5 meetings and 2 trainings per week, even with our son in hospital. I a doing my level best to remain possitive, but I don't know how much harder we can push before hitting the breaking point. Can't figure out what we are doing wrong! Willing to hear suggestions......

We had an awesome home meeting at Reggie & Rena's tonight. ESM Dug & Marilyn Morris did the BP and NSM Sandi Walker closed. We had a great time, about 30 people got the whole FHTM story. Can't wait til tomorrow at the DoubleTree, Tampa. What a fantastic business opportunity.

Looking forward to working with others who recognize the benefits and opportunity of FHTM. Also looking forward to my first conference call in an hour.

Helping Others

Life's most urgent question is: what are you doing for others? Martin Luther King, Jr

One of the things that really appealed to me about FHTM is the fact that you have to be willing to help others. Success in this business is being a TEAM BUILDER not just a recruiter. We are building teams of people. Once you get a new rep on board you need to invest yourself into them and focus on helping them become a regional and then teach your new rep to do the same. Through the power of duplication you will find yourself climbing to the top. So the question still remains to be answered. "What are you doing for others?"

Chris Hall

Warren Buffet and Donald Trump come for dinner and offered advice on changing your life.

What would you do? Would you listen intuitively? Would you listen and go back to your mundane life when they left? Would you ask for simple steps on improving your financial picture? Would you ask your spouse if it was ok to take and implement their suggestions? Would you ask your broke friends for advice on the advice you just got from the world’s wealthiest man? How long would it take you to begin to implement their suggestions? What if you didn’t succeed right away? Would you quit? Could you replicate his advice for others?
Would you call him and ask for more advice? Would you have the self-determination to give things a try that they explained during dinner? Would you be at all interested in attempting to get out of your box and change your financial picture forever?
Do you have any alternatives?
Is your retirement income similar to that of Trump & Buffet?

Paul Orberson has created an opportunity to give similar advice and TRAINING with FHTM as those 2 mega wealthy individuals do.

Why don’t you take Fortune seriously?
Why do so many make excuses for why they can’t do something different?
Why do you let others discourage you?
Why do you take advice from those who know less, earn less and have a JOB with no future?
Why don’t you let your upline help turn your desires into achievable GOALS?
Teamwork is not about one – it is about many.

Pick yourself up, brush yourself off and make something of yourself for your family. Start creating passive, residual, multi-generational wealth today before you end up like 95% of the world – dead or dead broke!

1st Goal Within Reach!

I signed up on Jan. 25th and am within striking distance of becoming a Regional Manager by the end of next week (March 13th).  My wife Pam and I are very excited about the opportunities available to us through FHTM.  We have several very excited new Managers as well.  My #2 daughter Melissa Cameron is 19 and now owns her own business (thanks to Fortune Hi Tech Marketing) and is inspired to make a career growing her new business.  She has some very fresh idea's and a ton of inspiration.  How cool is this!  How hard is it for a young person to dream of starting a business the traditional way with banks and risk and all the trappings? How fantastic to share this with young energetic minds and having this kind of opportunity to share and help their peers develop a business that can change their future as well.  Fortune Hi Tech Marketing truly lives up to my Fortune Hi Tech Website name. http://www.fhtmus.com/friendshelpingfriends

You Can Win

"There is no chance, no destiny, no fate, that can hinder or control the firm resolve of a determined soul."

They key to building a big FHTM business is to develop a resolve and become determined that nothing will keep you from obtaining the success you want. Once you become determined there is no NO that will ever weaken your faith or your vision in your journey to financial freedom.

Chris Hall

I have five simple ideas to share with you about the words that come out of your mouth:
1. Learn when to be quiet. Some of us are more inclined to speak than others, but those who find the most success are often those who know when to be quiet. There may be a situation in your life right now that is hindered and not helped by more talking. Don't be afraid of silence. Sometimes life's best answers appear when we are quiet enough to listen.
2. Give yourself time to think. We have all heard the saying, "think before you speak." Consider this a reminder that it is always wise to consider the impact your words will have after they are spoken. Think of the best way to communicate what you need to say before you even open your mouth. Even when you are in a conversation and must respond immediately, take a few seconds first to gather your thoughts. You will come across as being more thoughtful and you will feel more confident about what you say. If you need more time to think about how to respond, simply say, "Let me give that some thought."
3. Refuse to murmur and complain. We can always find something to complain about if we focus on the negative. Make a decision to appreciate the blessings in every situation and refuse to waste your words complaining and murmuring. Instead, ask, "What solution would help me eliminate the challenges I find myself complaining about?" Complaints drain your energy - and the energy of the people around you! Use your words to renew your energy, not deplete it.
4. Tell me something good! Ask yourself and others everyday, "What's the best thing that's happened to you lately?" Are you still asking yourself that question regularly? Stay in the habit of acknowledging the good things that are going on, so that you don't find your conversation out of balance and focused solely on the negative realities you may face.
5. Speak your goals into existence. One of the most common reasons many people never reach their goals is that they don't really believe they can. Not only do they not believe it, but they speak negatively about their chances for success. Sometimes you have to speak your way into believing all that is possible for you. Speak positively about your vision for your life. "I will accomplish my goal by doing XYZ ...". Even if you hear your doubts swirling around in your head ("You can't do that!" "Who do you think you are?!"), refuse to verbalize them. Eventually your thoughts will catch up with your words!
My challenge to you this week: Identify one way in which your words are hurting you more than helping you. Take a specific action to change that dynamic.

Motivation is the driving force behind life-enhancing change. It comes from knowing exactly what you want to do and having an insatiable, burning desire to do what’s necessary to get it. It keeps your dream on track as it is the power of motivation that keeps you going when the going gets tough.
Here’s 5 top tips to help you supercharge your motivation (Jim Rohn):
1. Create a picture board and fill it with images of your desired goals. The car you want to own, the house you want to live in, the area where you want to live yes, they’re the obvious ones. Others could be pictures of holiday destinations, trophies, first-class travel tickets, clothes you want to buy, fine restaurants you want to frequent – whatever you can think of that gets your pulse racing.
2. GET ANGRY. If you want to change your life for the better then get angry about where you’re at now. Having a blasé attitude towards change isn’t what’s needed and it won’t create a strong desire within you. So ask: “Why do I want to change?” Is it because you’re FED UP with debts? Does your job DRIVE YOU CRAZY? Is your life DULL AND PREDITABLE? Are you SICK AND TIRED of doing the same thing week in week out? Are you BORED BEYOND BELIEF by the dull, uninspiring, unhappy people you associate with? THEN GET ANGRY ABOUT IT. And I mean REAL ANGRY. Write it all down, all of the frustrating, unrewarding, miserable lot of it that makes every day a dull slog until your final days. IS THAT WHAT YOU WANT?
3. Speaking of your final days, start to appreciate the value of time. Time is one of the most precious resources you have and it is also a NON RENEWABLE resource. You can either use it fully or squander it. If you want to create change you’re going to have to invest a lot of time to make it happen. Start to reduce the time you waste on irrelevancies: Television, newspapers, lie-ins, weekends spent shopping, partying, dining out, visiting an endless line of relatives and friends – these won’t help you get what you want and all of them will rob time from you. Valuable time that you can use much more effectively by investing it in YOU. Remember this: You have a finite amount of time here on Earth. You don’t know how much time you have – no one does. But it’s how you use the time you have that counts. So make your time count and that means starting from right NOW.
4. Conformity. Are you a mindless little sheep who’s way too timid to pursue your own way? Do you have to follow where everyone else goes, doing exactly what everyone else does and therefore, who gets the same levels of happiness as all the other little sheep? Seriously, does this describe YOU? Are you too frightened to be different than all of the other sheep because they wouldn’t like it if you decided to follow a different path? So you dutifully trot along following all the other sheep because if they’re doing it then that’s how it is right? But if you do what everyone else does you’ll just get what everyone else gets. Do you want to be a mindless, timid little sheep who blindly follows all the other sheep? Or do you want to be a leader, a warrior who possesses the courage to be uniquely you and to do what you want to do and make your dreams happen? If so then this means you have to be more like a tiger than a sheep. Do you really want to be a sheep? I mean, haven’t we got enough sheep already?
5. Fear your fear. Fear is the force that is determined to stop you in your tracks and rob your dreams from you. But it can only do this if you let it. Are you going to let this cruel destructive charlatan trample on your dreams, steal your happiness and crush your spirit? Imagine this thought haunting your final days: “I didn’t do the things I wanted because I was too frightened to live”. And by then, it’ll be far too late to conquer fear. Refuse to let fear spoil your life and start taking action – now!
The world is waiting for your unique gifts. Why keep it waiting any longer?

Use webinars to BUILD YOUR TEAM

So I tell people that to really build the business, they must start with ten to 15 hours a week. And that means being out, two or three evenings a week. Now that’s hard. I know.

Because it means at 7 pm, when your spouse is home and your kids want to play, you’re leaving to go to a meeting. So you may instinctively rebel and say that you don’t want to pay that price. You may want to only build three or four hours a week. But that doesn’t work!

Yes ten to 15 hours a week is a sacrifice. But it is a sacrifice you make to become free. And leads us to the most important question… How many hours a week are you working right now to build someone else’s dream?

One thing that I want to reiterate is that your prospect is ready when they are ready. People that are open to your opportunity are summoning you and your business on some level. Many times all you have to do with someone who is ready is to share the business with them, get them on a conference call or to a webinar (www.fhtmwebinars.com) and if they're business. Conversely, there's not much you can do with someone who is not ready. People that are resistant are just simply resistant and I don't have a lot of secret tricks to give you to convince, manipulate or sell them into trying fortune and wanting to build a Network-Marketing business."MJ"
Remember you are looking for people who are looking!

Tonite was really too comical. I was scheduled to present a bp at a local bar where my husband's band plays when they don't have any other gigs to do. This gentleman is from Nashville, well-dressed, intelligent and really looks like he doesn't want to own a juke joint on a back road in rural TN! I was just the person to solve his problem! It wouldn't take much effort to look good in this dive, but I decided to dress for business anyway. I looked like a diamond in a compost heap, but I was pumped and ready for the close. The owner asked me to come by at 7 p.m. because he had a bartender that could relieve him during our meeting.

My son, Bryce (18, who is also a rep), went with me to learn the ropes!  We had to wait at the bar 10 minutes because the owner was late. So, in he comes, stands behind the bar with his hands on the counter and says, "Alright, show me what you have." as if I were going to tell him right there sitting at the bar with the game on behind him on the big screen!

I said, "Yeah, you bet! Let's go to your office. Do you have a computer with internet or should I set up my laptop?"

"Oh, I don't have an office." WHO doesn't have an office???

We decided, because karaoke didn't start for an hour (*sigh*), that we would sit at one of the quieter tables where I could plug in my laptop. There were only about 4 people in the place at that time, so it seemed reasonable.

My laptop wouldn't boot up. Bar owner runs to his car to get his. His works but the audio was so quiet that it couldn't be heard very well. It didn't help that at the very moment the Mr. Chorost was introducing Steve Jordan some guy plunked about 5 bucks worth of quarters into the juke box that was 3 feet away!

Once a Marine, always a Marine ... I was not one to admit defeat easily, so I suggested that I give a verbal presentation.  At this point, I was subconsciously gauging the decibels of the juke box to how well I could project over the din. I admitted I wasn't as smooth with my delivery as were the people in the DVD's. I explained that, ideally, I should be able to just pop in the DVD and the information spills forth. But I would certainly do my best.

Bryce and I threw in the towel when the bartender interrupted me to inform my client that the women's toilet was overflowing and he had to come right away.

This whole situation kind of worked to my advantage, as my client was in an apologetic mood. He promised to watch thereelfhtm bp after I rebutted his offhand comment about Fortune being just another network marketing company by dangling a well placed carrot of fact. We rescheduled for Monday, one hour before the establishment (and I use that term loosely) opened.

Bryce and I got in the truck and just laughed all the way home. What can you do!?

Choosing the Right Financial Vehicle

The first choice of vehicle for most people is working for someone else.

Let’s examine the fallacy of gaining financial freedom through being an employee. There are many reasons why a person makes this choice.

First, many times it is because someone in their family before them has worked at the same location, in the same vocation, or with the same company. Thus, they believe it is a noble thing to follow in the footsteps of their family member.

While this may be noble, it is not smart financially. Second, many people do not have the education or expertise to do anything other than work for someone else.

It is not wrong for a person to labor for someone else; in fact, there is always a need for laborers. However, this is not a vehicle by which financial freedom can be gained.

The employee or laborer, let’s call him Lem, will always be dependent upon the employer for one thing, his employer's willingness to pay. As soon as the employer is unwilling or unable to pay, Lem is without an income. This dependence is a scary thing, and it is getting even scarier.

Through the years, people have had to compete for the best paying jobs. This was no different for Lem. He had to acquire more education, more skills, more recognition, or more connections to position himself for that high-paying job; all the while spending thousands of dollars to acquire those requirements of “positioning.”

What he did not realize is that he was only indebting himself so much that it will take decades to even break even with what it cost him. By then, the younger, more able, more skillful, more educated, and more connected is now in competition for his job.

If Lem has not been promoted into higher positions of authority, he is a “sitting duck” for the competition. All of the sudden Lem finds himself with the prospect of being replaced, and the decades of service were only useful in his life to pay for the “cost of positioning.”

He is not able to enjoy the security he once thought was a sure thing. He is now in the mid-life years and having to compete with younger more energetic individuals for the same job. He is not financially secure because the past ten or fifteen years have been paying for his cost of positioning.

Even if he has been promoted, he is still competing with others for the ever-illusive position “that will guarantee security.”

Lem’s dream of financial freedom quickly becomes a nightmare. He does not possess financial freedom, personal freedom, or any other freedom, because he is told when to go to work, when he can leave work, when he can go on vacation, how long he can stay on vacation, how much money he is going to make, and for how long he is going to make it.

He is told where he has to work, who he must work with, and who he must work for. Since he is trading his time for this control by his employer, and therefore, his time freedom, he is quite literally giving up everything just to work for someone else.

This is not what he had envisioned when he was in college preparing for his career.

Lem had a vision of being financial free some day, at retirement age, but never recognized what he was giving up in the best years of his life. If he could have recognized when he was younger that the only way to true financial freedom is to be free to make his own choices, it would have empowered him to make the choices that would take him to his goal faster than he could have ever dreamed possible.

The dream of financial freedom, however, is not held by everyone. There are those individuals that choose to work all their life for someone else. For them, financial freedom will never be a reality. They have accepted a certain level of quality of life as being sufficient for them. To them I say, “More power to you!”

I would not want to reduce their choice to anything other than it being their choice. If they are happy with this arrangement, then who am I to say otherwise?

There is, however, a large segment of our society who desires to live their life to its fullest possible extent.

They desire to have the ability to go where they please, when they please.

They want to choose for themselves who they work with, and desire to work for no one.

They have an appetite for a higher quality of life than the average person.

They are willing to risk more to have more.

They are willing to pay the price now, for a few short years, in order to enjoy the life they desire for many years to come.

They enjoy and must have financial, personal, and time freedom.

They are the givers of the world.

They recognize that the only way to enjoy this kind of life is to give themselves to others, and thereby proving that it is more blessed to give than to receive.

It is this group of people that provide the employment opportunities to most other people.

This group of people also gives a large portion of their earnings to non-profit endeavors.

It is also this group who generates more tax revenue for the government through commerce.

The vehicle chosen by this group to reach financial freedom is business ownership.

The reason is simple; as a business owner, this person, and we will call him Shem, has the ability to determine how much money he will make, as apposed to the employee who has this determined for him.

Shem has the opportunity, as a business owner, to make decisions that directly affect how much freedom he will have. Shem can decide what line of work he wants to pursue, and how much he wants to be paid. He decides how many hours he wants to work, and when he works those hours.

Shem decides when he goes on vacation, and how long he wants to enjoy the vacation. The only limit Shem has is the limitations he places on himself.

What are the differences in Lem and Shem when it comes to finances and financial freedom?...

The most obvious difference between the two is: while Shem makes a profit, Lem only makes a wage. These two different approaches to income creates polar opposite results in personal finances.

While both can be considered an income, only profits from business retain the larger portion of the earnings. As stated in my book, “Don’t Get Trampled by the Moose!” “An employee is taxed on his wages while a small business owner pays taxes on his profits.” This means that Lem must pay the government all their money before he sees his paycheck, while Shem pays his expenses before he gives the government anything.

In some cases, Lem may actually pay the government more than he is supposed to and feel he is getting something great when the government returns the overpayment to him in April of each year in the form of a tax return.

This arrangement takes money out of Lem’s pocket during the year that he could be investing or using for expenses, and allows the government to use it instead. Lem is not in control of his finances because other people are deciding what is done for him.

Lem has one of the rarest and most precious commodities any of us have, and he’s trading it for one of the least valuable commodities. He is trading his time for someone else’s money.

Time can never be saved or created. We all have the same amount of time in a day. When time has passed, we can never regain that time. It is imperative that we all use our time as wisely as possible!

Money, on the other hand, is not rare; you can save, create, regain, manipulate, and generate as much money as you desire. It is not even worth that much any more, and they print or mint more of it all the time.

The truth is, Lem is getting the raw end of the deal. He is told what, when, where, and how he is to live more than one half of the available hours in his day. In return he is receiving just enough money to pay his bills and have a little left over for a movie or to eat out once a week.

Lem can never make more money than the number of hours he works, thus, his income is very limited, and so is his future. The only way he can increase his income is to work more hours. The only way he can change his economic status is to find another legal source of income, reduce his expenses, or both.

Shem is the one in control of his money, and consequently, his financial future. He has tax advantages that Lem hasn’t even heard of; much less have the opportunity to enjoy.

Shem can reduce his tax burden dramatically by claiming over 150 tax deductions as a small business owner. As an officer of his company, Shem also gets to pay for many personal expenses such as: children’s college education, vacations corresponding with business trips, housing, etc, all out of the company’s revenues, and not having to pay a penny of income tax on those items.

This reduces the taxable income necessary for Shem to enjoy these benefits and a greater quality of life, while Lem must figure out how to save for or do without these opportunities. The tax incentives alone are motivation enough for Lem to start a small or home-based business.

Add to this the freedom Shem enjoys to live life on his terms, and you can see why Lem is angry. He has been sold a bill of goods that is not what he bargained for. Lem was looking for something much different than that with which he wound up.

The question now is, “How can Lem get out of this predicament?” He must change the vehicle, which he is counting on, to gain the financial freedom he desires. His current vehicle, or plan, is not working, so he must choose another vehicle to provide the freedom he desires. Place yourself in Lem’s shoes.

It is important for you to make this choice wisely because you do not have as much time left as you once did. Therefore, the particular vehicle you choose must get you to the desired “end” faster than the ones you would have chosen when you were younger. It is also very important to select the right vehicle for the economic environment in which you live.

Some financial vehicles may seem to be great opportunities at first, but turn out to be just the opposite, causing you to waste precious time getting to your financial goal. You must determine the effectiveness of your current choice of vehicle, and select a second vehicle that will supplement your income in the short term, and perhaps even replace it in the long term.

To effectively make this choice, you must first decide whether or not you even have a plan to reach your financial goals. Once you recognize what level of income is needed to reach your goals, the business vehicle you will choose to carry you to the “end” is of utmost importance.

There are only three types of basic business models to choose from: a conventional brick-and-mortar business, a franchise business, or a home-based business? To determine which one is right for you, the activities of the business must coincide with your purpose for having the business in the first place. In other words, the business model should match your desired goals.

If your goal is financial, time, and personal freedom, you don’t want a business that ties you to activities that are not in line with your goals. Let’s look at these three in comparison one with another.

First, let’s look at the conventional brick-and-mortar business. The critical elements of this type of business is, location, location, location (as it has been overstated, but still true), a trend friendly product line, a lot of personal time on site, and lots of working capitol (and I mean lots).

In a typical conventional business, you would build and own a building, buy an existing building, or lease an existing building. If you build a building you also must also purchase the land on which the building will sit; if it is in the right location, you must purchase a very expensive piece of property if it is going to draw traffic through your doors.

Without traffic, you have no business. In this business model, there are several factors that will affect how well suited it is for your goals. You must ask yourself these questions:

  1. Do you have the capital to initiate this type of endeavor?
  2. Do you have the personal time to invest into running this type of business?
  3. Do you have the products or services that people want?
  4. Can this business get you to your goal quickly enough?

If you answer no to any of these questions, you best not begin this type of business. Because this type of business is commonly very labor intensive, you will not have the freedom you may think you will have.

There is the option of paying other people to work for you, and this is a good thing for the economy, however, until you have sufficient income to cover all the financial obligations placed upon an employer by the government, you are going to be the “chief cook and bottle washer.” This is OK as long as you can answer yes to all the above questions.

Second choice of vehicles is the franchise business.

This type of business closely resembles the conventional brick-and-mortar business except that your products or services are already established for you. There are advantages the franchise business has over the conventional business. These advantages would typically include:

1. National recognition 2. A proven system for you to follow
3. Standardized products and services
4. Established business model

While this type of business usually generates a higher income to investment ratio, the downside to this kind of business is that it normally requires a substantial initial investment. Most franchise businesses must also share a percentage of the gross or net revenues with the parent company.

In other words, since I enjoy eating at a fast-food restaurant called Wendy's, let’s say I wanted to open a Wendy’s restaurant and was successful in doing so. In return for the privilege of using the Wendy’s name, I would have to share a percentage of the revenue of the franchise with the Wendy’s franchise corporation.

The owner of this type of business must dedicate himself to the life of the business.

In other words, as long as he owns the franchise he will be tied to a schedule that includes very long hours and all the headaches that go along with hiring and firing employees.

Thirdly, we discuss the vehicle option of the home-based business.

There are many different options for the home-based business owner in regard to the type of business, the business model, the product or services, and the initial investment requirement.

The most common home-based business is network marketing. Network marketing is one of the fastest growing industries in the world. A recent article in the USA Today, Business section, promoted network marketing as being a recession proof business. Well known business men such as Donald Trump, Robert Kiyosaki, Sir Richard Branson, and others have not only encouraged participation in this industry, but have invested heavily in the industry themselves.

There is a reason for this.

This is where the money starts. There is no money until you reach this level. But once you reach it you must start a new team.

1)      Start a new leg as soon as possible, once you have done this you will have a whole new list of people to work with( Your new managers prospect list) (I would get 2 to 3 new people)

2)      The moment your new manager joins your team, get them to make a list and start showing the plan using the DVD.

3)      Your new manager must be trained right away. Have them get to the Saturday training immediately and have them follow the steps in the Success Plan attachment I have provided.

4)      Your new manager must get plugged into the meetings, without this interaction their business will go nowhere and the leg will die.( Not everyone who go to meetings get rich but those that are rich go to meetings)

5)      You need to be plugged in as well, Your new managers need to see your commitment if you want them to be committed.

6)      Treat this business as a real part-time business not a spare-time business there is a difference. Put aside the 1-2 hours a day and work it during that time.

7)      You are in a pay code that pays 200.00 bills to unlimited levels. Get your 10 points in place, they are a tax deductable business expense. And it’s the only way you can participate in the pay plan.

8)      This is a serious pay plan. I had 27 people join my business in the last 45 days. I only sponsored 2 of them. That is leverage take it seriously and when your prospects see ypou take this seriously they will join your team.

9)      If your team doesn’t isn’t putting people in front of you and putting people in the business go out a start a new leg.

We are all creatures of habit. We get into a routine that we are comfortable with and we stick to it unless something big comes along and shocks us out of it. Our daily habits often force us to put up with all kind of degrading and destructive events, all in the name of keeping things comfortable or familiar. We would rather put up with the habits we know because we can put up with them, rather than create new habits that we have never experienced before.

The excuses for clinging to our habits range from almost acceptable to completely neurotic. For example, staying in a job that you don't like so that you can continue to pay the mortgage and feed your family is almost an acceptable excuse for staying at your job. It would be just foolish to suddenly quit and start thinking about how to pay your bills.
But it is wrong to think that this job that you dislike has to be it for the rest of your life. Sure it's comfortable, you know you can do it, but don't you owe to yourself, your family, and your employer to get out and do a job that is right for you?

Nothing will change if you don't change. The first step is recognizing that change is necessary. Secondly you have to figure out where you would be more fulfilled in your career. Maybe you have to do something more creative, something outdoors in nature, something that allows you to be in different places, or maybe you have to be the one making all the decisions with your own business. When you are clear about what it is that you really want from your career, you have to start taking steps towards it. Take action!!!

A new life is not going to come running to you just because you're unhappy with your old one.

If it's your own business that you dream of, you may have to start from your home. Working during the night and weekends to move closer to doing it full time and leaving your old job.

Just because we are familiar with something is no reason to continue doing it. It's easy to get caught up in day to day living - especially if you have a family to take care of - and to put off any changes that could improve your life. Change can invoke fear, insecurity, and feelings of loss in people. Make the change anyway!

Life is not pausing for you while you are putting up with something that you dislike. Life is passing you by while you waste it doing the wrong thing. There's no rewind button, there's only now, and if you're not happy with your now, Change it!

As a mother and a business woman it amazes me how many people within Fortune do not realize exactly what they have their hands on. If they did......they certainly wouldn't handle it so casually. Fortune is a vehicle that can create an asset that will evolve with trends, spending habits, stable products, consumable goods, and necessities throughout our lifetime and certainly throughout generations. Never before have I seen a model where you could create Generational Wealth for your family and create a legacy.

When I grew up I had big dreams and none of them involved being a realtor (my former life) or network marketing. I plugged into the real estate industry simply to be a part of a business with no limit on the income I could create. It worked very well but was transaction based. When I stopped having transactions....I stopped receiving income. This is the simple fact of what drew me into Fortune. It just made sense. Even if you haven't been in business before understand this: Residual income is the backbone of tycoons and what makes their lifestyle what it is. The residual income from Fortune's model takes that to the next level in that Fortune does not have to constantly come up with the "latest and greatest". Fortune simply plugs into the companies that have the later model and markets it within our network and outside to our future network. Generational Wealth was almost a lost phrase in our language prior to Fortune.

I am so proud that when I am old and gray or even long gone my grandchildren and great grandchildren will never have to make a career decision on financial potential or for financial reasons period. They will live their lives based on their passions and interests. If nothing else they will see a portrait over a mantle somewhere and say, "I cannot believe what our Grandma did for us."

Give your family the gift of "Generational Wealth" and let your Fortune start today!!

Planning for freedom (Retirement)

Employment is simply the means of generating currency, approved by our society, to trade for other goods and services. The manner in which we generate this currency is the main focus of this discussion.

There are three primary ways you can generate currency. You must generate currency through either revenue from commerce, wages through employment, or profits through investment.

With this in mind we can conclude that each of these three sources is simply a “means to an end.” We can also call this process, “planning toward a financial goal.”

In order for us to plan toward a specific financial goal, we must know what the goal is in the first place. This goal is the driving force behind every action you take, and every action you take should move you closer to your goal.

If you are doing something that takes you further away from your financial goal, you must stop that action immediately. So, the first decision to make is to establish the financial goal you want for yourself.

The majority of people never give this step a second thought. They think if they currently have a job, they are going to be just fine.

History has proven that people, who fail to plan financially, end up either living beneath their current quality of life when they reach retirement age, or must continue to work far beyond normal retirement age. This does not need to happen to you.

We have discovered in recent months that retirement savings held in company stock is not the safest choice to provide a suitable income after retirement. I am not offering financial advice here, but whatever choices you make to secure your financial future, you must ensure it will be there when the time comes and when you need it most.

So, what is retirement all about? Well, many years ago, the government (and I use that term loosely, after all, we are the government right?) anyway, the government decided it would be a good idea to take a portion of money out of everyone’s paycheck and “save” it for us until we reach old age so we would have money to live on. (We won’t get into how the bureaucrats have spent our money when they were entrusted to save it for us. That’s another lecture for another day.)

Then, when we reach the age they determine, we start receiving monthly incremental payments of our own money. Sounds kind of funny doesn’t it! Having the government take money out of your check so they can use it as they please until you reach a certain age. Who asked them to do that anyway? Not me!

You may ask, “Why do I need other people taking money out of my check, when I am barely making it now?” Well, that’s the way it is, and unless a lot of people get together and change the system, that’s the way it will remain, at least until the money you and I have put in there is spent by the politicians, then who knows what they will come up with. So, you need to ask yourself, “Is this money going to be there when I retire?” “Is it going to be enough, even if it is there?”

The truth is, there are no guarantees that any of it will be there. If that’s the case, what are you going to do when you get too old to work?

Let me ask you another question. Why do you have to wait until the government decides you’re old enough to retire? The answer is, YOU DON’T!! In fact, you can “retire” anytime you please, if you have the money to do it, right?

So why do you have to retire at all? Why not call it freedom, instead of retirement? Do I need the government to tell me when I can be free financially? NO! And, neither do you!

Let’s look at retirement from a different perspective. According to the traditional, corporate mentality, retirement is supposed to be the reward for a life of service and employment to a company.

This is what most people think of when they talk about retiring. In fact, most people are of the opinion that you retire from something. Let me say very emphatically, you should never retire from anything, but rather to something! And why does retiring have to be after 30 or 40 years of employment?

The sad truth is, if you are working for someone else, it takes this many years to accumulate enough money to retire. This is the whole problem, as I see it!

And if we are calling retirement – freedom, wouldn’t it be much better to choose the age at which you want to enjoy this freedom? You can, but only if you effectively plan for it.

You must change your mentality from one of retirement to one of freedom. Retiring means: to stop working, withdraw, exit, leave, pull back, fall back, pull out, give ground, retreat, etc; doesn’t sound real positive, does it.

To be honest, it kind of sounds like…dying. On the other hand, freedom is having the ability to do what you want when you want. Isn’t this much more positive? This is the end for which you must work.

So the means by which you obtain this end, or freedom, is very important. The real goal then is to get to freedom as quickly as possible so you can enjoy the freedom the longest possible amount of time. Why wait until you are in your 70’s to enjoy financial freedom?

The question you must ask yourself now is, “How well is your current plan working for you?” Are you going to reach financial freedom sooner than later, or perhaps not at all?

Are you going to be one of the millions who have to wait until they are in their 70s to enjoy financial freedom? Are you going to be one of the other millions who never have financial freedom at any age?

You see, it really is up to you. If what you are currently doing is not going to provide you and your family with the freedom you desire, you must create another plan; a plan “B” if you will.

You must first have a desire to be financially free before you can create this plan “B to take you to your goal.

Freedom is truly within your grasp, if you want it badly enough. The problem with most people is they are unwilling to pay the price to gain financial freedom for themselves and their families.

If you are willing to pay the price, there is no limit to what you can achieve. Once you have a desire that is strong enough to carry you through to the end, you must create your plan.

The most important part of your new plan is choosing the right vehicle that will take you to your goal.

"What would you do today if you were brave? " The first time I heard these word were at a motivational confrence. Then wonderful speaker by the name of Michael Scott Karpovich typed them to me last week on this site regarding our son Michaels battle with leukemia.
I have pondered a lot these words since then. There are a lot of things I would do or say if I were brave. I would sky dive. I would address some issues that were buried  not delt with 40 years ago. Because they were never talked about, it is kind of like the big pink elephant in your living room that no one wants to acknowledge but everyone can smell because no one has picked up after this big pink thing for 40 years(get the picture?)  I would take chances on making new friends. I would drive a race car. I would speak my mind. I would let things unfold naturally in my life instead of trying to be in control all the time. I would sing and dance in my livingroom, and not be worried about what the neighbors might think. I would talk to everyone I know and don't know about FHTM!.....but wait why can't I do that last one right now? What am I afraid of? Really what will they do pull out a bazooka and terminate my life....as tempting as that maybe somedays around here with nine kids...no they won't!
I have to actually laugh because really what will they do??? Nothing!!! That is the answer! I think my son having cancer has been hard, but this is not a mountain our family is unfamiliar with. My husband was diagnosed with Pancreatic cancer 11 years ago. We were told to do up a will and get our affairs in order. So we did. We even started planning his funeral!! Long story short, he is still here an very much alive. My mom survived cancer  7 years ago. Our oldest daughter was in the hospital when she was 5 for 8 months. We were not sure she would survive complication after complication, surgery after surgery.
So what would I do today if I were brave? Well looking back on my life, with many, many, many more stories like the ones above, I have shown I am brave! Thats how I know FHTM is going to work for us. We've been kicked down many times, but we've always got right backup!!
Dont wonder IF your brave, I bet if you look back on your life, you already are too!!!!

Fortune Gump

I saw Fortune Gump on a website somwhere and don't remember where.  Coild someone help, please.      Thanks

FHTM vision is to "HELP OTHERS ACHIEVE THEIR FINANCIAL GOALS AND LIFE DREAMS!"- When  YOU became apart of FHTM,  your yes was a commitment to "FOREVER HELPING THE MULTITUDES!" and you confirmed it by your WHY!

So what is stopping you or holding you back from your pursuit? FEAR, DOUBT, or UNBELIEF? Listen, you are extraordinarily great, and you have thousands upon thousands of people waiting in the wind, swinging from chanderliers, and hanging on the last knot of a shreading rope, wishing, and-a- hoping to hear the goodness of an opportunity like FHTM!

From this day forward you must make up in your mind that it is not about you but it is all about them! Remember "your" WHY,.... when fortune was introduced to you. The longer you wait to share FHTM, the longer you will have the multitudes connected to their Why from being helped, therefore you make the VISION knoll and void !

TAKE  A  STAND! Become BOLD  and CONFIDENT  in you mission and the value of the vision! Tell fear to forever be gone, tell doubt to disappear, and tell unbelief a unanimous yes to victory in every area of your life and your fortune dream!

Now that your belief is in check, and your mind is renewed to the Vision in which you are connected to, tell me now,  "you CHAMPION you" (smile) -What stand have you decided to take in your FHTM business this week, this month, or this year that will FOREVER HELP THE MULTITUDES?!"

Vickie Carpenter- Duncan Tampa, Fl.

On Friday our son Michael had us all come to his school. He had all the students pay to cut off chunks of his hair. Once all his hair was gone (Which it was all going to fall out anyway from Chemotherapy) he had managed to raise $324.00 for Kids with Cancer!
We are so proud of him for taking such a positive out look on things in the face of his illness!

Dream Again

As children we dream of doing extraordinary things no matter what our surroundings.

As adults we find it harder to dream about doing extraordinary things because of our surroundings.

What happens to us over the years to cause this phenomenon?

Perhaps if we clean out the junk that has over the years piled up between our ears, we can have the dreams back.

Network Marketing is a vehicle to get you back to dreaming again. Learn all you can about this great opportunity and take action, once you get in your head that you can do it, clean out the junk and start Dreaming Again.

Bill Norton

Well Don is off to a BP. There are usually around 200 people at this one venue. We have 5  meetings a week now in Edmonton. It is exploding here.
Because we have 9 kids we take turns going to the meetings. We go together once a week. It's our DATE NIGHT! Our 15 year old son was just diagnosed with leukemia 2 weeks ago. We just got him home from the hospital and now are embarking on a 3 year journey with Chemotherapy. He was very ill after his treatment yesterday, but is feeling much better tonight. His sister ( who is 22 yrs old and is the one who got us into FHTM) dyed his hair BRIGHT PINK! We told him you may as well do something funky before it all falls out. It  is now become a project. he decided to raise money for KIDS WITH CANCER here in Edmonton Alberta. So he asked his teacher if they could post signs in his school. Anyone who brought in a donation could cut off a piece of his pink hair and have their picture taken with him. What a kid. He is so positive. He said "Mom I am worried, but I know ther is nothing I can do about this, so I may as well look for the positive things I can do everyday!" So as you can all imagine our WHY just got even bigger!!! In three years when he is done all his treatments, we are taking our family on the holiday of a life time! Thank you FHTM! There is no way we could have ever done a trip like this in the past!!!!

Conditioning by Society

Most of us were taught as young people to go to college, get a degree, and find a good job working for someone else. Perhaps this “someone else” was a large corporation with lots of benefits, perks, security in a routine payday, and possibly even what most people would call a high salary.

There’s nothing wrong with this of course, but you must ask yourself this question, “what are you trading in return for all these so-called benefits”? What do I mean by this? Well, we are always trading something for something else aren’t we? As I’ve said in my book, “Don’t Get Trampled by the Moose!” we either trade quality for price, or price for convenience, or even convenience for something else we want.

As an employee of someone else, you may trade personal free time for more pay so you can have more money to buy something you want or take a trip you want.

The bottom line is, as an employee, you trade personal freedom for company benefits. This may be just fine for most people, but there’s a segment of our society that is tired of living under the thumb of corporate control.

This segment is growing at an unprecedented rate. People are tired of the broken promises of corporations. A person is hired for a certain hourly wage in return for his time performing a certain task designated by the company.

Then the bottom drops out of the company and people are laid off without warning.

This is not the company’s fault, after all, the economy is affecting everyone, but more than that, how can a company be loyal to a person, or a person be loyal to a company. What is a company anyway?

A company isn’t an individual or entity; it is a conglomerate of people and ideas. Loyalty to a non-entity is misplaced.

You can only be loyal to a person, and most people are more loyal to themselves than any other person; this is normal human nature and is looked down upon by many. However, you must look at the consequences of loyalties if you are to understand how to survive in the current economy in which we find ourselves.

No one could rightly argue against the need for a man to protect and provide for his family, or a single parent to meet the needs of their children. Every person who is responsible for a child must find the means whereby to give them the chance for education and opportunity. This is the basic of all human endeavors.

The greater an individual views the value of the child in their charge, the greater the level at which they will strive to provide for that child’s future. This doesn’t mean just monetary provisions, but emotional and spiritual responsibilities as well. But, we’ll discuss only the monetary responsibilities.

Loyalty to yourself is the only way to secure financial security for you and your family. This action isn’t selfish, as many people may think. Over 200 years ago, most people relied on their ability to provide for themselves.

This attitude of self provision and rugged individualism is what made our nation great. Sadly, large portions of our society today have been conditioned to rely on someone else, namely, the government, to provide for their financial security.

We have seen in recent months just how fragile this relationship can be. So, how does a person achieve financial security in our current economic environment? We have already seen how corporations no longer provide the security of long-term employment.

How can a person provide this security for themselves once again? The answer is, by planning properly for financial freedom.

True Courage

True courage is standing tall, facing your fears, and keep putting one foot in front of the other when all you really want to do is run the other way!

We all know someone who we think of as courageous. It's generally someone famous. But, we all know people who are truely courageous, they walk beside us every day and help us when the deck is stacked against us. They smile and tell us it will get better. They lead by example. They always put others before themselves.

Fortune is built by and with people of great courage! They go out everyday knowing that there are people out there who will try to discourage them and stop them in their tracks. These courageous people just shrug it off and keep pushing forward. They don't give up!

Sometimes it seems as if you're going against a tidal wave, but you preserver! It feels like you will never get anyone to join your team. And just when you think you can't take another "NO", someone says, "Yes!" If you had not had the courage to continue, you would not have been there to hear that "Yes" - someone else would have!

It takes courage to make a phone call, extend an invitation, show the DVD, or talk to someone. Courage is in each one of us in Fortune. It takes courage to step out and of our comfort zone and do this business. Guess what - you did it!!! You signed up! You paid the price! You are a Fortune Business Owner! You are Couraeous! Others do look up to you because of it, and if a select few don't right now, they will in the future! Just keep putting one foot in front of the other and success will happen - if - you have courage and we who are in business with you know that you do!

Everyone wants success. Some people spend their every waking moment pursuing it, to the detriment of all else. For others, attaining success seems impossible. They conclude that it is destined for a select few. The rest of us are to remain “content with such things as we have”. Having it all is not “in our stars”.

However, the above assumptions couldn’t be further from the truth. When you strive for success with the wrong assumptions, you will never reach it.

It’s like traveling somewhere with the wrong map.

Zig Ziglar says that, “Success is a process, not an event,” “a journey, not a destination.

Jim Rohn describes it as “…a condition that must be attracted not pursued.

Do you see the pattern?

“…a process, not an event.”
“…a journey, not a destination.”
“…a condition that must be attracted not pursued.”

You can’t hurry success, catch it, or find it by chance. You can’t inherit it, gate-crash on it, or take it from some one else. Success is something you must work hard and long to earn, for yourself. It has a price, sometimes a very high one. And most people aren’t really and truly ready to pay that price, to do what success demands.

If success has eluded you so far, perhaps you should try changing your assumptions.

You need to accept that:

(1) You must go through a growing process, which will require time and patience, in order to achieve success. There are no short cuts. Anything else is a temporary illusion.

Success that will remain with you, and bring you joy rather than sorrow, requires a learning process, a time to grow out of old habits and into new ones, a time to learn what works and what doesn’t.

And you must pay your dues, in full, in advance!

So don’t be in a hurry.

I just wanted to thank Norm and company for putting on an amazing event Saturday. The breakout sessions with 4 of the top NSM's in the world was awesome. We were able to get some real advice. It is very evident that the key to explosive growth in this business is putting an IMMEDIATE plan of action in place with your new manager. Making their list immediately after they join and getting in front of 20 people in the first 2 weeks. If you are able to do this your new manager will make Regional in 2 weeks and you will create explosive momentum in your business.

Fear of Failure ~

F (false)
E (expectations)
A (appearing)
R (real)
Fortune Hi-Tech success will help you overcome your FEAR of anything. It will give you the opportunity to get out of your "comfort zone" and experience the next 10 or 20 years of life without the dark glasses on. To be successful in life we must take off the blinders, think outside of the box and do things successful people are willing to do on a daily basis. Success leaves clues, but most people are to afraid to see them or act.
Most people self-limit themselves. Most people do not achieve a fraction of what they are capable of achieving because they are afraid to try because they are afraid they will fail.
Take these steps to overcome your fear of failure and move yourself forward to getting the result you desire:

Step One: Take action. Bold, decisive action. Do something scary. Fear of failure immobilizes you. To overcome this fear, you must act. When you act, act boldly.
Action gives you the power to change the circumstances or the situation. You must overcome the inertia by doing something. Dr. Robert Schuller asks, "What would you do if you knew you could not fail?" What could you achieve? Be brave and just do it. If it doesn't work out the way you want, then do something else. But DO SOMETHING NOW.

Step Two: Persist. "Successful people just don't give up". They keep trying different approaches to achieving their outcomes until they finally get the results they want. Unsuccessful people try one thing that doesn't work and then give up. Often people give up when they are on the threshold of succeeding.

Step Three: Don't take failure personally. Failure is about behavior, outcomes, and results. Failure is not a personality characteristic. Although what you do may not give you the result you wanted, it doesn't mean you are a failure. Because you made a mistake, doesn't mean that you are a failure.

Step Four: Do things differently. If what you are doing isn't working, do something else. There is an old saying, "if you always do what you've always done, you'll always get what you always got." If you're not getting the results you want, then you must do something different. Most people stop doing anything at all, and this guarantees they won't be successful.

Step Five: Don't be so hard on yourself. Hey, if nothing else, you know what doesn't work. Failure is a judgment or evaluation of behavior. Look at failure as an event or a happening, not as a person.

Step Six: Treat the experience as an opportunity to learn. Think of failure as a learning experience. What did you learn from the experience that will help you in the future? How can you use the experience to improve yourself or your situation? Ask yourself these questions:
(1) What was the mistake?
(2) Why did it happen?
(3) How could it have been prevented?
(4) How can I do better next time?
Then use what you learned from the experience to do things differently so you get different results next time. Learn from the experience or ignore it.

Step Seven: Look for possible opportunities that result from the experience. Napoleon Hill, author of Think and Grow Rich, says "every adversity, every failure and every heartache carries with it the seed of an equivalent or a greater benefit." Look for the opportunity and the benefit.

Step Eight: Fail forward fast. Tom Peters, the management guru, says that in today's business world, companies must fail forward fast. What he means is that the way we learn is by making mistakes. So if we want to learn at a faster pace, we must make mistakes at a faster pace. The key is that you must learn from the mistakes you make so you don't repeat them.
Although we all make mistakes, fear of failure doesn't have to cripple you.

The Editor of Millionaire Blueprint Magazine states “… if I ever made the decision to get involved in any network marketing company, I would join this man and his company. The concept of the company is unique, it is financially strong because it is backed by Paul himself, and he has major dollars. Major national companies are lining up trying to get his company and distributors to sell their products. His compensation plan is like no other in its generosity, and millions of dollars have been spent on the support and technology for the distributors.” ....

“Fortune Hi Tech Marketing was started with a unique premise: an unprecedented pay plan that gives sales representatives more money back than they invest”… Millionaire Blueprint Magazine ....

Fortune even offers you a way to get your initial $299 investment back within 60 days ....

Fortune pays you 40 different ways. Even if you do NOT understand all the different ways you get paid, you still receive the income ....

Fortune Hi Tech Marketing will never be a publicly held company. That allows company to make decisions that benefit the representatives rather than the stockholders, which is the number 1 reason Paul continually finds more ways to pay his reps. At Fortune more profit = more pay increases. ....

In the last 7 years there have been over 30 pay increases plus the Lexus car program paid out to Reps. ....

The company is, and always will remain 100% debt free ....

The Compensation Plan pays to unlimited levels ....

There is no compression. Everyone stays where they sponsor in, even if someone leaves, everyone else stays in the same position. ....

Every Friday you are paid quick start bonuses, training money, and quick start overrides. ....

Once a month you are paid your residuals and the bonuses from each of your Regional, Executive and National Codes. ....

You only need 3 Customer Points to get paid on your front line, 5 Customer Points to get paid through level 7, and 10 Customer Points to get paid to level 8 in your manager code and to infinity in your regional code. ....

You never need to have more than 15 Customer Points the entire time you are with Fortune.....

You never lose the money you get from another level. Your Manager Code income combines with your Regional Code income, which combines with your Executive Code income and again with your National Code Income. ....

When you reach the top level of income, it is a combination of every level of income you have earned since you first began with Fortune ....

There is NO aggressive selling of products. You are your own best customer. In most cases you and one or two friends or family members are the ONLY customers you will ever need. ....

If you can find a Network Marketing or Direct Selling Company … anywhere in the world … that pays out more income to their Representatives than Fortune Hi Tech Marketing, we would like to see it because we believe that Paul will find a way to outdo them. ....

“I have looked at and dissected Paul‘s company as well as its compensation plan, and in my opinion, it is the most unique network marketing company in the country and his compensation plan is the most generous plan in the industry. Nothing I have ever looked at comes close. In fact, before you really understand how it pays out, it defies logic. … Tom Spinks, Founder, Millionaire Blueprint Magazine ....

Are you a Leader?

Being a Leader In Fortune Hi-Tech Marketing

What is the DEFINITION of a LEADER? A LEADER is defined as a person who rules or guides or inspires others.

Do you know how your prospects look at you when you first contact them about your business?

He should be looking to you for information.

Are you a person who is listening and trying to build a relationship or do you do all the talking?

A LEADER listens.

A LEADER converts leads into prospects. He does that by knowing how to listen to them. I am sure that you have heard that GOD gave two us ears and one mouth, use them accordingly.

A LEADER is a person who has people asking for you to sponsor them into your business. In order for that to happen you need to built a relationship of trust first.

A LEADER is a person that others want to follow. Are you a person who can instruct your people step by step into being the next National Sales Manager?

A LEADER knows that he needs to be part of a system that is easily duplicateable. Systems duplicate people don't. A LEADER is a person who is building an FHTM Business TODAY.

A LEADER learns how to determine the personalities of the prospect and while talking to them in the first 30 seconds. This will help you while helping your prospect.

A LEADER learns how to answer all questions that he is asked with the appropriate and complete answer. Sometimes that means he needs to be able to know who to go to for the answer.

A LEADER must provide value to those prospects and downline that he works with.

A LEADER must, and I mean must, not be a SALESMAN or a recruiter. 92% of the people that you will talk with do not want to be sold.

A LEADER once he converts a prospect to his downline knows how to bring an individual into his system so that they can get plugged in.

A LEADER knows how to help people by pointing them to the correct places to learn how to do their business.

A LEADER then teaches his new people in his business to become a Leader.

The Economy

The economy

We are living in difficult economic times, and many people are predicting that it’s only going to get worse. In spite of the economic crisis we are in, you don’t have to be a victim of it. There is a solution that will give you the financial freedom for which you are looking.

Napoleon Hill said, “Before success comes in any man's life, he's sure to meet with much temporary defeat and, perhaps some failures. When defeat overtakes a man, the easiest and the most logical thing to do is to quit. That's exactly what the majority of men do.”

He also said, “Every adversity, every failure, every heartache carries with it the seed of an equal or greater benefit.” Over the past few years there’ve been many people in our country who have lost their job due to the down-turn in the economy.

This is always a devastating blow to the person as well as their family. I too have experienced loosing a job through a down-sizing and restructuring of a company with which I had given almost a decade of service.

You may have also experienced the same thing. This kind of thing not only affects your financial security, but can affect your personal feeling of worth and value. You may even experience a time of insecurity and doubt about the future.

How does a person recognize this seed of equal or greater benefit, and how does a person overcome these seeming failures to rise to prosperity? Rregardless of the negative circumstances we experience, there’s always a silver lining to the dark cloud?

Charles Stanley said, “Life is 10% what happens to us and 90% how we respond to it.”

Circumstances like loosing a job or loosing a substantial portion of retirement savings can certainly cause a person to rethink his or her actions when it comes to their financial future and how to maintain an adequate income to enjoy the same level of comfort during retirement.

It is these actions that make all the difference in the ultimate outcome of a person’s financial life.

So, let’s examine some of these actions in the form of fundamental principles that affect how we view our jobs, our incomes, and eventual retirement. The common principles are:

  1. Conditioning by society
  2. Planning for freedom (Retirement)
  3. Choosing the right financial vehicle
  4. Characteristics of the right vehicle
  5. Taking action

Conditioning by Society

Most of us were taught as young people to go to college, get a degree, and find a good job working for someone else. Perhaps this “someone else” was a large corporation with lots of benefits, perks, security in a routine payday, and possibly even what most people would call a high salary.

Cash Flow Solution

Because of the economy, people are loosing their jobs, investments are evaporating and people are rethinking how they view their source of income. Even people who have retired are having to go back into the workforce just to keep the same standard of living they were enjoying because their retirement funds have been dwindling.

This rethinking of income has also resulted in a paradigm shift in how companies gather customers. Companies like Pepsi Cola are even pulling their advertising dollars from even the Super Bowl because their money is better spent in other venues. One of these venues is the time tested and truest form of advertising and that is Word-of–mouth.

Word-of-mouth advertising has always been the most preferred and successful form of advertising because it possesses a self-inherent credibility. The modern word-of-mouth terminology is now called “Permission Marketing”, “Buzz Marketing” or “Viral Marketing” and even the social media craze is grounded in word-of-mouth activities.

Companies are beginning to use the power in this old, but new form of getting the word out, because they realize they do not have to spend any money before something is sold. Here is the scenario: Major companies spend millions of dollars each year to gather customers. They build buildings, train employees, and spend tons of money on advertising, all, before they sell one product or service.

On the other hand, with word-of-mouth advertising, they do not have to spend a penny until something is sold. This is the wave of the future. What you are about to see is the distribution model of goods and services for the 21st Century! The old distribution model brings in customers, but they loose just as many customers as they bring in each year.

Their real goal is to attract loyal customers! These are customers that will not go away after the contract is over. The only way to accomplish this is to have something in the formula that causes the customer to stay around. The one and only thing they cannot provide is the reason for this loyalty. That reason is loyalty to one another. You loyal to me, me loyal to you and so on. This is the Holy Grail of marketing!

Companies are willing to do something very unusual to gain this loyalty; they are willing to share their profits! Therefore one of the most powerful, and least known sources of income today is called “Revenue Sharing”!

Companies who offer consumable products and services such as: High Speed Internet Service, Cell Phone Service, Nutritional Products, Cable TV Service, Travel Services, Beauty Products, and the list goes on and on, will pay to gather loyal customers. In other words, Revenue Sharing is simply advertising money that large companies are willing to give to anyone who gathers loyal customers for them. And this money is already in their advertising budgets!

Now, let’s change gears for just a second and talk about another phenomenon that is sweeping the world, it’s called the internet! The internet has changed the world forever. In fact, this is where Pepsi Cola, I mentioned moments ago, is placing the money they are not spending on the Super Bowl ad. Why is this? It is because the internet is the marketing venue of, not only the future, but the present as well!

So, let’s go back to the idea of revenue sharing. The internet now allows us the opportunity to do what, in the past, only mega stores like, Best Buy, Wal-Mart, Target, Radio Shack, and many others like them, were able to do for so long: Share in the revenue of major companies by gathering customers for them.

These stores do not manufacture or produce anything! They are simply a “Middle Man” for these major company’s products and services and their customers.

Major companies are willing to pay the middle-man every month the customer pays their bill. In other words, you gather a customer one time for these companies, but these companies pay you a commission each and every month the customer pays their bill.

And with the advent of the Internet, you and I can now tap into this revenue stream that already exists from many different companies, and help others do the same thing!

You see, there are two very powerful wealth building tools available to us today because of the internet: Residual Income, that’s the monthly commissions we just talked about, and Leverage.

So what is Residual Income?

The best way to explain what residual income is is to first explain what it is not. Residual Income is not working for someone else either in a job or employee / employer relationship. Its not working for hire or contract work. And, it’s not working as a professional person providing a service such as a Doctor, Lawyer, the small mom & pop grocery store the plumber down the street or the heat and air conditioning man. These are simply people who own their job, and when the service has been rendered and payment has been made by the customer, these business owners have to go out and find another customer or hope that this customer will come back again at some point.

However, true residual income is income that flows to you month after month as the results of you only doing something one time. Typically, residual income is the result of a one-time sale that has multiple payments attached as long as the customer uses that particular service. These payments are continuous and consistent. These types of services include, but are not limited to: Cell Phone service, Cable TV service, Mortgage installments, Insurance installments, Gas and electric utility services, just as a few examples.

Have you ever noticed the names of the companies that are on the buildings in every major city in the country? They all are companies that utilize this very powerful wealth-building tool…Residual Income.

Now, let’s talk about the other powerful wealth-building tool called leverage…

I take this quote from my book, “Don’t Get Trampled by the Moose!” page 49…

“Leverage is utilizing the resources of people, time, money, influence, or any other asset to increase the potential of the outcome.”

In other words, Leverage is simply benefiting from the efforts of others. This is not a new concept. In fact, every major industry in the world already utilizes this powerful tool. J Paul Getty said, “I’d rather have the results from 1% of a hundred people’s efforts, than 100% of just one person’s” Every business model from Real estate brokers to manufacturing facilities uses the concept of leverage to their advantage.

The key to building wealth with this concept is, just like Best Buy, Wal-Mart, and others, to have many stores gathering a few customers. The key to success is to have the right partnerships with, not only the right companies, but the right people as well!

OK all you FHTM Vets....

I am starting presentation meetings next month is Spokane.  I have been a public speaker of sorts for some time so I can talk to a room just fine but I would like to hear what has worked for you all.  I will use one of the Presentation DVD's (not sure which one yet as they are all real good).  I have a personal intro before and a conclusion after.  The meeting is a month away and we already have 10 or so signed up to attend.  The room is confortable with 25.

I plan to try and keep it at one hour.  It is in a very nice facility and we have a real nice 52" Plasma TV to show the DVD.

What things have worked best for you?  What tips might you be able to share with me?

Looking forward to learning from you,

Dean

I am more and more convinced that there are so many people more looking for us then we are them. I have just met several people this week and have some very excited new team members that were flat out looking for a new vehicle. They were just able to admit it to themselves. Keep showing this plan and you will find those that are praying for you.

Hi Fortune Family,

Do you guys have problems with your new reps getting qualified?  I have heard often in training that you shouldn't sign up new people without their 3 points (but new reps have 60 days to get their points).  How do you guys handle this?  Often times it seems harder to qualify a business than it does to sign someone up.  Any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated...

Ann

recorded closing calls

Hi Fortune Family,

Do you guys know of recorded closing calls?  The only one that I know about is done by Kevin Mullens.  It is great, but it is also very long.  Do you guys just put your prospect on the phone to listen to that call or what?

We are told to use our upline to help close the deal, but what if you are unable to get your upline on the phone or your immediate upline isn't doing very well.

Thanks

What an incredible growth in Fortune Hi-Tech Marketing. Growth is taking place as I've not seen before. In the month of January, we saw triple the growth in our team of any previous month we'd ever had. If you thought you had time to poke-it with a stick before, you no longer have that luxury. We're seeing more and more people's reactions to their contacts being in someone else's team because they didn't go show it to them right away. This is an exciting time! Spring 2010 will never come back.

Don't miss it! Go show to all of the people you know, love and care about!

See you at the top!

One of the best ways to bring people to your group or profile is by adding pictures.  Fortune Social is happy to see how many of our FHTM representatives are taking part in sharing their experiences.  Because so many of you are doing this I thought it would be a good idea to make you aware of how to do this!

        • This link will allow you to download and install the program
        • Once Installed you will be able to easily resize, rotate images, correct Red Eye and lots more!
      • Images file size should not be bigger than 150Kb and smaller if possible

Here are quick instructions on how to do the upload:

  • Log into your Fortune Social account and you can choose which picture upload you wish to do
    • Profile Picture
      • Mouse over Profile then, from the dropdown select Change Profile Picture

    • Name the album and, if you like, write a short description

Critical Timing

As we sit here at the conclusion of Jan 2010, I believe we are entering a time period in Fortune's existence that will go down as the beginning of the most explosive growth in our companies history.  When books are written about Fortune, and many will be, February 2010 will be the start of unprecedented growth.  There are many factors driving this.  First of all, 9 years of pay raises, 9 years of partnerships, 9 years of growth, and of course 9 years 0f success stories.  Now 13 straight months of triple digit growth.  And, major announcements to streamline the customer gathering, plus the biggest pay-raise in the history of the company.  Folks, the Spring of 2010 will be absolutely explosive.  Make sure you are showing this plan to as many people as possible so that you are a part of the massive growth that is sure to take place over the next few years.  Be a glad I did, not a wish I had.

Fortune, Wireless Shop

Just upgraded my contract with my cell phone carrier through the Wireless Shop. It took me 8 minutes. It was so easy. Got a few confirmation emails and should have new phone in a few days. It will show up with my old number in place. That was a quick point for Fortune. Now every time I pay my bill I will get paid from FHTM. Love this business.

Closing Help!

Hi Fortune Family,

I have a wonderful regional team, but we are growing very slowly.  However, we are all showing the plan a couple of times a day.  My team is using there upline (most of the time that is me), but I don't have the credibility that is needed.  My direct upline isn't doing well...until you get to my Executive which is Ken Bailey and my National which is Todd Rowland.  They have both been wonderful, but there aren't easy to get on the phone.  Any advice that you could offer would be wonderful.

This is the most wonderful business and the people involved have great integrity.  So I strongly believe in what I am doing, but want to be able to help my team more.

Thanks

I have a question?

Hello Fortune Social family, I have a two part question, I hope  this will help everyone who may encounter this same problem.  I recently encountered a prospect who gave the overall impression that they were very interested in viewing FHTM.  After viewing the presentation they refused to speak to my upline and kept challenging me to disregard what my upline has to say, then the individual began to ramble on about how the company they were with was far and beyond a better company.  What would be a good response that will not offend or create a some form of tension for other people in the environment and still keep the interest of that prospect?
The second question is based on another prospect that questioned my intregrity and character.  What is a good way, again, to answer that type of question without putting my on intregrity, my teams intregrity and the companys overall intregrity at risk?  I had a chance to listen to one of the obstacle calls however, I may have missed it but, I don't recall anything on the call how to address that type of question without some form of tension developing and possibly destroying  the line of communication between myself the future prospect?

Thank you Eric In Mia

Don't Give Up!

It can get discouraging for new Managers when it seems like people will never sign up! You do everything that your up line tells you to do but nothing seems to be happening!!! I know how this feels because I have and am there.

I don't know about a lot of y'all, but I grew up with farming. You work the land 24/7 year round! But here's the thing - most of that year you don't see anything for all of that hard work! The ground is bear of any havestable crop!!! But you're still preparing it with nutrients and then seeds. The seeds finally get above the ground where you can see them, but you still have a lot of work to get them to the harvest! Then praise God, you get to harvest your crops!!! But, my friends, you don't get to rest on your laurels ( pun intended), you get to start the whole process all over again!

Now here is where I equate Fortune to Farming. You and I do what we are supposed to do. We WORK Our Business like it was ready for the harvest! You may not see anything happening right now, you may have hit a stagnant spot, whatever the situation, Work Your Business!!! There is something happening!!! The ground is fertile, the seeds are planted, They will break ground and grow. You can nurture your business to the harvest!!! IF YOU DON'T GIVE UP! Some will shot right up like rye grass and others will be slow like cotton but they all get to be harvested sooner or later! Just keep working and one day it will all of a sudden take off and you will be running to keep up.

Don't compare your business to anyone elses' because it's uniquely yours - you may have a different crop or type of land than they do! God made us all different just like everything else. Wouldn't it be boring otherwise - who would want to eat the same thing all the time or be all alike?!?! That would be so boring!  So just keep putting one foot in front of the other and it will happen for you - IF - You Don't Give Up : )

The Time Has Come!

Build FHTM Nebraska You know, I'm one of those people, probably not unlike yourselves, who takes awhile to figure it out.  Joe Issacs, my Regional, brought me into Fortune Hi-Tech Marketing three months ago.  Since then he and I have been working very hard to bring this site, fortunesocial.com and its sister fhtmwebconnect.com on-line for all of you.  What that has meant is that I've not done a thing with FHTM....

The week of January 5, I was down in Palm Harbor, FL with Joe and his family while we finalized our launch of the new fhtmwebconnect.com at the SuperSaturday event in Tampa, FL on the 9th.  It was at this meeting of so many representatives of FHTM, from Managers to National Sales Managers, that I think my fire was finally lit!

Here I am out in, what I'd call the wilderness of FHTM, and had done nothing really to build the business!  Joe and Dave Maso, my up-line Regional SM had been prodding me all along....  "You have a great opportunity!", they'd say.  What the heck is wrong with me??!!

Anyway, I get it!  I've begun building the foundation team who will spread across Nebraska and beyond!  In pursuit of this goal I've established a new group on fortunesocial.com for all those who want to help me build out the state and by virtue of how this business works, the mid-west as a whole!

If anyone has any ideas or advise they wish to throw my way on how best to "getter done" I am all ears!!!

The Time Has Come!!

I have said it before and I am saying it again. This companies training from corporate to local team support is second to none. I challenge anyone to find another network marketing company with our leadership, support, and training. It was amazing to be able to learn from someone like bBilly Stahl who has over 30 years experience in this industry. I learn something new everytime I attend any training in this company.

After years in Fortune business, I've discovered that there is a no more effective tool than the 3 way call in building a thriving FHTM organization. Paul Orberson and the FHTM leaders advocate using the 3 way call and offer FHTM Training.

Not sure what a 3 way call is? It is the credibility call you make when talking to a prospect. Introducing an experienced, knowledgeable third party to a new prospect allows that prospect the opportunity to listen objectively to a leader whose expertise can create excitement and momentum. As a result, your organization continues to be built by individuals with great enthusiasm and clarity.

The 3 way call is of great importance for people new to the Fortune business. You start the FHTM business with enthusiasm, which is great. Enthusiasm can lead to the 'motor mouth' syndrome when a new rep overdoes it. The new rep tries to tell everything they know about Fortune Hi Tech Marketing. It probably isn't a lot at this time. Your prospect gets overwhelmed and you get a 'no thanks'.

Fortune is a 'show not tell' kind of business. Use all the tools provided by FHTM training to 'Show the Business'. Some of these tools are: audio, dvd, cd, written, web based, etc, After your prospect has seen the plan is the time for the 3 way call.

Who should be your third party? Usually it is your upline but during your team's meetings ask for a list of at least 3 Fortune reps you can call so you will be covered when you need it. I always found it more effective when I made sure my upline knew I would be calling with a prospect. You should ask your upline what they prefer. Before long you will develop your own routine that makes you feel comfortable as you grow your FHTM business.

As the leader of your own team, encourage your team to take advantage of 3 way calls as they build their Fortune businesses. By the same token, do a self examination and assess the strategies you use to improve your FHTM business. Carefully consider, how many 3 way calls you did last week? If your number of 3 way calls was low, then there is a high probability that your production was low, too.

With a commitment to growing your FHTM business by using all the tools taught in the FHTM training, you'll discover the 3 way call is critical in setting the speed of this growth. So FHTM reps, just how many 3 way calls were you on this week?

Fortune Hi Tech Marketing has created the wave and you need to Ride the Wave to Success!

ESM Paul Bennett made a tour of Tampa Bay and Sarasota this weekend. I attended his training in Clearwater this afternoon. He gave a new perspective on how to approach prospects and potential reps. His info will definately help your team to grow.

The video will be here on Fortune Social, hopefully, by Monday. I highly recommend your entire team watches it a few times. Its very powerful stuff.

What is your WHY? Express yourself and express the freedom you are living or plan to live through Fortune Hi Tech Marketing the liberty vehicle!

Fortune COOKIE Tips!!

This blog is about the small situtations you have encountered in your fortune business and the solution you used to rectify the situtation. You know,... the small insignificant things we forget to think about or fail to plan for! Example...

-Situtation: One day I had  5 back to back appt, 4 one to one, and 1 at a work site. I always use my laptop if a person does not have a dvd player. When I got to the 5th appt my laptop battery needed to be recharged and there was no electrical connection at this site. My appt had to be reschedule because time was limited.(Oooops!! Yeah right!!! BIG OOOOPPSS!!! ( Smile))
Solution: NOOOW--- I travel with my laptop. cd player, and a flip chart and I have stored FHTM presentation call and a few ESM closing call on my cell phone!! So now all my guns are loaded - READY, AIM, and as Woodsen Gardner's son would say "SIGN'EM UP, SIGN'EM UP, SIGN'EM UP!!!!!"

Share your fourtune cookie tips! Remember FHTM is an imperfect business for imperfect people with perfect purpose using a proven plan!!

I got a pre-declined credit card in the mail.
I ordered a burger at McDonald's and the kid behind the counter asked, "Can you afford fries with that?"
CEO's are now playing miniature golf.
If the bank returns your check marked  "Insufficient Funds," you call them
and ask if they meant you or them.
Hot Wheels and Matchbox stocks are trading higher than GM.
McDonald's is selling the 1/4 ouncer.
Parents in Beverly Hills fired their nannies and learned their children's
names.

A truckload of Americans was caught sneaking into
Mexico .
Dick Cheney took his stockbroker hunting.
Motel Six won't leave the light on anymore.
The Mafia is laying off judges.
Exxon-Mobil laid off 25 Congressmen.    Congress says they are looking into this Bernard Madoff scandal. Oh Great!!

The guy who made $50 Billion disappear is being investigated by the people who made $1.5 Trillion disappear!   And, finally....  I was so depressed last night thinking about the economy,
wars, jobs, my savings, Social Security, retirement funds, etc.,  I called
the Suicide Lifeline. I got a call center in
Pakistan , and when I told
them I was suicidal, they got all excited, and asked if I could drive a truck.

We had 21 at our In Home tonight on St. Pete beach and it will be 40 next week. Here we go! There is no better place to build your  Fortune Hi Tech business than in the comfort of someone's home. Tonight Don Thommasson hosted and did a great presentation and I closed. We had 5 new reps join the team.

Congratulations to Paty Tamayo for promoting to Regional in her Fortune Business. Paty is going to be very successful in this business. I promise she will be on the FHTM leader boards soon and I am proud to have her on my team.

Clete's a movin'!!

As heard on Rich Miller's Conference Call last night:  Clete Miller is setting the bar very high--so proud to be on his team!!

I just want to remind everyone the power of one.

It only takes one to start your business, and if everyone duplicated just one person a month here is what you would get.

January You+1=2

February 2+2 =4

March 4+4=8 ( you just became a Regional)

April 8+8=16 ( You just Doubled in Your Regional Code)

May 16+16= 32

June 32+32= 64 ( You just became an Executive)

July 64+64=128 ( You just made over 40,000.00)

You get the picture. If we have this much to gain why in the world wouldn’t we show this plan everyday until we get a YES. FORGET the NO’s keep your eye on the prize.

It may start slow but look what happens with Consistency, it is a marathon not a race.

It’s the power of one, It’s the power of You!

I did a Business presentation Saturday Morning and there were about 50 people there. I asked the room to raise their hands if they felt like they had realized their dreams in their life. Not one person raised their hand, how sad is that. There was someone from every walk of life, every age, every race, and no one raised their hand. We live in the greatest country in the world yet most of us havent founfd that vehicle to give us the ability to fullfill our dreams. Fortune Hi Tech Marketing is the vehicle. Dont give up, work hard for 3-5 years in this business then you can spend the rest of your life living your dreams whatever they may be.

"How do you transform what you think you can do into what you know you can do? You make the commitment to get it done. How do you take something you would like to have and make it something you actually do have? You make the commitment to make it happen."

If you want to see your FHTM business succeed you are going to have to make a commitment to yourself that no matter what obstacles may arise you will overcome them. One of the keys to being successful is to understand that Fortune is a business and must be treated as such. You must take control and purpose in your mind that you will do what ever it takes to win. Purpose within yourself that you are here for the long haul and simply get up and go do it.

Keep Building

I want to congratulate Robert Millegan for his recent promotion to Executive Sales Manager. Hard work does pay off.

Guys just a word of encouragement. There may be times in building your fortune business that your not seeing the results that you want or think you should have. The best key to success that I can give is to tell you don't quit. The only loser in Fortune is the person who gives up on their dream. Fortune isn't a sprint its a marathon. If your not in it for the long haul you're in it for the wrong reasons. If you haven't figured it out yet the key to building a big business is simply to keep showing the DVD over and over again and then go to work with your team. Yes there will be bumps in the road, yes there will be tuff times, yes there will be times that you feel like no one will do this but remember YOU DID and if you did others will too. Just don't give up don't quit, keep showing the DVD and call your up line to close. If you keep pushing your promotion is around the corner.

If you think things are better dont believe it. Forclosures up 24% in Florida alone for December, Retail Sails drop in december worst in 27 years, Unemployment claims up again. Wake up and do something. This is the time to make your future, do not wait for things to get better, dont think the government is going to fix anything. It is up to you! People are praying every night trying to figure out how to get out of this mess. GO SHOW THEM FORTUNE HI TECH MARKETING AND HELP THEM and by doing so you will help yourself.

Built on Sharing!

It is the most wonderful thing to know that our business is built on sharing! It doesn't matter if you're a brand new Manager or in the Presidential Pool, you can not build your Fortune Business if you don't share! That's the whole principle of FHTM. I have found that this is not just a philosophy in gathering people to make up a team, but in each person's thought process  in dealing with others no matter what your or their position in Fortune. People share not only their time, talent and hard work, but their ideas and materials that they themselves have made. This isn't done out of a sense of self but rather out of a genuine interest in helping others and the edification of others.

If we are to lead by example, all we have to do is look up, look at the ones who are giving their time and talents helping you and countless others. Look at your up line and aspire to be like them. Pick one that you can personally identify with and emulate them. Imitation  is the sincerest form of flattery!  And when you get the opportunity to share with someone else, do it with the same grace and whole-heartedness as your up line has done with you. It will be returned to you pressed down and running over!

We received this email this morning -
Randy & Serena,
Count Rita and me in.  Serena, I have to tell you that you have accomplished a virtual miricle.  In the elusive quest to establish a residual income I have been involved in various network marketing companies over the years.  With some direct involvement and from the sidelines Rita has developed a gut wrenching adversion to network marketing generally.  With your powerful presentation and Fortune's great opportunity you have literally changed a negitive paradyme in which she has been entrenched for years.  She is totally onboard with me on this.  I can't thank you enough for your mental outlook healing powers.
                                           Sincerely,  Tim

This is a business, it wont always go the way you want. But imagine if it was a traditional business and you had employees and rent to pay and not enough income to cover it. Fortune works but it may take time. The National average for  new business to make a profit is 3 years, I promise if you share this business everyday it will take less than 90 days before you are making a significant return on your investment. Treat this as seriuos as if you spent your life savings and mortgaged your home to own this business and you will be successful. You see I have done that, and made a lot of money in traditional business, and Had I known that this business was available I would have taken this opportunity 1000 times over traditional business. Take the time to understand what you have your hands on with Fortune and you will realize that it would be foolish to quit.

What a great experience.  I was able to just present this extraordinary business model that Fortune Hi-Tech Marketing offers with every corner of the country.  Imagine being able to build your business from Winter Park, FL to Greenwich, CT to Los Angeles, CA at 11pm EST. Well the imagining is over.  I just did it and next time I will be doing it using FHTM Webconnect. There is no other company on this planet that comares to Fortune Hi-Tech Marketing.  Use Webconnect and build your business around the world.

Hey folks,

Wanted to thank everyone for an incredible event in Lakeland on Sat Jan 9th.  Dave Maso, and so many others worked exetremely hard to put on a first class event.  Sorena Larson started the day with a fantastic presentation, and speaker after speaker just did an outstanding job.  Another event will be planned for the same area within the next couple of months.  Thanks to Joe Isaacs for videoing all the speakers and making it available here  on fortunesocial.  Joe has worked tirelessly to make this a fantastic site for all aspects of building a Fortune business.

Folks I am so excited about the next few months in the Fortune business.  New announcements on products and services, as well as, the largest pay-raise our company has ever seen, will be made public withing the next couple of weeks.  Go out and work hard and your life will change financially like you never dreamed possible.   I have to pince myself sometimes to make sure I am not dreaming when I stop to think how blessed I have been in Fortune.   Friends, if I can do it, why not you?  Have a blessed day.

Staying Positive

It was once said "instead of giving myself reasons why I can't, I give my self reasons why I can." If you are going to be successful at anything in life you will have to develop a positive attitude. It is so easy to always see the bad or the negative in a thing. We say the glass is half empty but success says it's half full. When approaching your Fortune business don't dwell on the negative. Don't get focused on how many people told you NO. Think of every NO as a stepping stone to get you that much closer to your financial future. Yes you will have people to tell you NO but the law of average says that not everybody will. So don't dwell on those who say NO. Go out today and get your YES. Give yourself a reason why you can succeed and create financial freedom for you and your family. NEVER QUIT, NEVER GIVE UP!!!
